What is the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY)?
Announced by the Prime Minister and approved by the Union Cabinet, PMVBRY is a massive employment-linked incentive scheme with a budget of nearly ₹1 lakh crore. The primary goal is to create over 3.5 crore jobs in the next two years. The scheme is a two-part program that provides direct financial incentives to both newly employed individuals and the companies that hire them.
The implementation of the scheme is overseen by the Ministry of Labour & Employment through the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The benefits will apply to jobs created from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2027.
How Does the Scheme Benefit Employees?
If you are a first-time employee, this scheme is a significant boost for your career. Under Part A of the PMVBRY, the government provides a one-time incentive of up to ₹15,000. This amount is equivalent to one month's EPF wages and is disbursed in two installments.
- First Installment: Paid after you complete six months of continuous employment with the same company.
- Second Installment: Paid after completing 12 months of employment and a mandatory financial literacy program.
The scheme's benefits go beyond just financial incentives. It aims to formalize your employment by bringing you under the social security net of EPFO, which offers a range of long-term benefits.
How Does the Scheme Benefit Employers?

Employers can receive up to ₹3,000 per month for each new employee they hire. This incentive is available for up to two years. For companies in the manufacturing sector, the benefit period is extended to four years, highlighting the government's focus on boosting this key sector.
To be eligible, an establishment must hire and retain a minimum number of additional employees for at least six months. The requirement is:
- Two additional employees for companies with fewer than 50 existing employees.
- Five additional employees for companies with 50 or more existing employees.

For Employers:
- Visit the official PMVBRY portal.

- Ensure your business is registered with EPFO.
For Employees:
- As a first-time employee, you must generate a Universal Account Number (UAN).
- The UAN can be generated easily using Face Authentication Technology (FAT) on the UMANG App.
- Once you have your UAN, you can register on the designated portal or upload your UAN details via the UMANG App to claim your incentive.
